Jakob started his career in the Confederation of Danish Industry with capacity building of business organisations in developing countries, including on social dialogue with UTICA, the Tunisian business organisation that won the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize. After joining UNHCR, Jakob spent two years in HQ and was then deployed to Rwanda in October 2015 to develop and implement a strategy for economic inclusion of refugees with a focus on making refugee self-reliance synergetic with development of host community economies, particularly through self-sustainable partnerships with social enterprises and private sector in general. Today, Jakob works from UNHCR HQ Copenhagen office on global strategic issues related to furthering strategic shared value private sector partnerships in refugee contexts.

Jaz has over 10 years of experience in multi site portfolio energy and sustainability management.In 2016, she was awarded a Royal Honours, MBE for her services to the sector. Jaz volunteers much of her time as a STEM Ambassador to help raise the awareness of energy/engineering careers, helping to create a pipeline of future sustainability professionals
